AI disclaimer

The music of DEAF8 was created in part with the help of artificial intelligence. I mention this not only for the sake of transparency, but also out of respect for the craftsmanship of human creation. I am fully aware that AI can pose a threat to real musicians, composers, and performers -people who pour their soul, breath, imperfections, and emotions into every note.

As a seasoned professional, I can confirm that AI is advancing rapidly. We’ve reached a point where it no longer just generates, structures, or simulates -it can even surprise real musicians.

But what it will never be able to capture is the elusive human element -the soul that vibrates in a voice, the emotions, the nuance of a hand on a string, the silence between two sounds that only a human can understand. That’s why I will never claim that AI-generated music is on the same level as music played by real musicians -especially when it’s authentic and performed live with real instruments. To me, that is the pinnacle of human creation, the most beautiful art form there is.

I use AI mainly as a hobby experiment, a tool, a creative partner -but I will never see it as a replacement for people. That said, I personally disagree with the notion that electronic music, and by extension the use of modern tools like AI, is inherently uncreative and therefore devoid of artistic value. That’s a separate discussion worth having.

The explicit mention that my music was created with the help of AI is above all driven by my belief that ethics and transparency are essential in this new creative reality.
